Earlier this month, drug a team of four from integrated marketing agency Carswell Gould returned safely from their latest CG Adventure, having cycled a mammoth 550 miles in three days in aid of Oracle.
The Massif Challenge event was organised by Challenge Adventure Charities (CAC), one of the UK’s largest cycling charity fundraisers, and saw nearly 200 ambitious cyclists take part to raise money for charities.
The Carswell Gould team was made up of Gareth Miller, strategic director; Rich Olivey, web developer; Daniel Evans, graphic designer; and Sam Barclay. The team donned their finest Carswell Gould cycling attire and rode valiantly to raise funds for Oracle Cancer Trust, achieving and exceeding their fundraising target to raise a brilliant £1,200 for our vital head and neck cancer research projects.
Dan said: “The challenge was one of the toughest cycling routes I’ve ever done, but it’s for a great cause and the sheer amount of support we’ve had from friends, family and clients has been amazing. Seeing all the support and donations that have been coming in has made it even more worthwhile.”
Rich added to Dan’s comment, “The Massif Challenge certainly wasn’t a walk through the park, but the team worked fantastically throughout the three days. No matter how exhausted we were from the early starts, bad weather and long cycling stints, everyone’s spirits were always up.”
Oracle’s Head of Fundraising, Emma, who visited Team CG at their offices in Southampton in October to congratulate the team on their efforts, said ‘We are very grateful for the fundraising and awareness-raising efforts of the team from Carswell Gould, both of the cyclists themselves and those supporting on social media and from the office at home. Congratulations on such an impressive feat!’
Oracle Cancer Trust was chosen by the team as particularly close to their hearts after the managing director of one of Carswell Gould’s clients passed away from throat cancer.
Team CG has now returned to a very proud office, but the fundraising is not over!

Oracle looks forward to building on this event and working with the Carswell Gould team to raise more vital funds and awareness for our research work over the coming months.
