Carswell Gould takes on The Massif Challenge for Oracle

Posted under Fundraising, Supporters on

This September, Oracle is privileged to be benefitting from the support of employees from Southampton-based integrated marketing agency, Carswell Gould, as they look to take on their next CG Adventure- the Massif Challenge.

The Massif Challenge is a strenuous 529-mile cycle relay through France, using three of the 21 stages of the Tour de France.

Along with over 250 other riders, a team of four Carswell Gould employees will be taking on the famous challenge later this month.

The team, made up of CG’s Strategic Director, Gareth Miller; Senior Web Developer, Richard Olivey; Graphic Designer, Daniel Evans; and Sam Barclay, is very excited about the challenge that lies ahead and preparing by putting in hours of training.

Team member, Richard, says –  “I have been cycling for around seven years, originally to commute to and from work, but have been taking it more seriously in the last three years. Last year I completed my first century ride; I enjoyed the experience and found it easy to push myself. However the Massif Challenge is going to be a major leap from this! I have experience of close friends and family suffering with cancer so I understand the importance of the work that organisations like Oracle do and am proud to say that I will be helping out such a noble cause.”

Strategic Director, Gareth, is also no stranger to the bike and is very excited to help the team reach the finish line, saying: “I can’t wait to take on the challenge with such a great team for such a great cause. It’s a beautiful place to ride and I look forward to getting the wheels rolling very soon.”

The team is aiming to raise at least £1,000 for Oracle’s pioneering head and neck cancer research after one of the firm’s clients lost their former managing director to throat cancer in 2004.
