Funding available for inequalities project

Oracle Cancer Trust have announced a new research funding initiative in collaboration with North West Cancer Research

The two charities have announced grant funding for a new project to tackle inequalities in head and neck cancer and applications are open now.

North West Cancer Research are the only independent cancer research charity funding quality research to benefit local people in the North West of England and North Wales. the charity funds pioneering research to tackle the cause, improve the care and find the cure for cancer.

Oracle Cancer Trust is the UK’s leading national charity dedicated to Head and Neck cancer. Oracle work to advance the fight against Head and Neck cancer and ensure that the medical community, patients and families get as much support as possible to be beat the odds with regards to this disease.

Together, North West Cancer Research and Oracle Cancer Trust are collaborating to jointly fund a Head and Neck Cancer research project. This will focus on the need for better data to highlight the inequalities in Head and Neck cancers.

The two charities are looking to fund a research project that will provide data gathering, mapping and analysis on inequalities in Head and Neck Cancer in the UK’s National Health Service.

The expectation is that this project would produce insightful data which could be used by both North West Cancer Research and Oracle Cancer Trust within 12 months. However, if the researchers need to extend the duration of the project in order to finalise their conclusions, this would also be considered. The proposed budget for this call is £125,000.
