Celebrating businesses supporting Oracle's vital work through the pandemic

We'd like to thank several of businesses that have helped support us at what is a very challenging time.

Blue Orchid Hotels Chairman is our own Vice President Tony Matharu. You may recall our last Research Evening in October 2019 was hosted at their brand-new Tower Suites hotel (videos of presentations on the evening can be found here). And most recently, Tony and Blue Orchid organised a unique online event hosted by Rory Bremner and in aid of both Oracle Cancer Trust and The British Heart Foundation, raising over £2,000 for both charities.

Says Tony (pictured right), “Our aim was to host an engaging, insightful and entertaining evening together with providing information and knowledge to assist in building a healthier and more successful future. Like many others, charities face a very difficult time at this moment, and so every effort in raising funds and awareness is greatly appreciated.

"A huge thank you to Rory Bremner, Professor Kevin Harrington and all of our guests for giving their time freely together with our sponsors for supporting these two great causes.” Thanks so much Tony!

J&P Scaffolding

Last September Phil Johnson, a former head and neck cancer patient decided to support Oracle through his scaffolding business. J&P Scaffolding works in the St Albans, Luton and Harpenden area and Phil decided that every time he has an invoice paid, he’ll donate £10 to Oracle. So far, he has donated £470 through this scheme and also inspired some of his customers to donate and find out more about the charity.

His partner Katrina (pictured right with Phil) said “I have a little info informing the customer of what we are doing and why, which is sent out along with a quote or invoice. It has raised some awareness of the charity which is always good. Interestingly it is the private customers who may comment on what we are doing and one couple donated £100 to Oracle which was very kind. It is actually beneficial to both us and Oracle as it spurs me on to chase any unpaid invoices!!” Thank you, Phil and Katrina for everything.

Good Cake Day

Founder, Chinelo Awa, was recently described by Readers’ Digest as making the most delicious brownies known to man and we wholeheartedly agree. And her small but mighty South London business makes a 10% donation from every purchase of their ‘Feel Good Gift Set’ towards the Missing Cancer Patients Appeal.  The ‘Feel Good Gift Set’ includes her famous brownies as well as two beautiful loose leaf teas, rose gold strainer and secret message mug.  She has also donated an exclusive edible puzzle cookie for our Oracle Friends competition. We’ll draw at the end of the month and send it to our lucky winner.

Chinelo also created the code Oracle12 so Oracle supporters can get 12% off all orders. Visit their website to see the full range of goodies that can be delivered to loved ones (or yourself!) as a special treat. Thank you Chinelo for all your support.

Firetree Chocolate recently donated some of their very special chocolates to thank all our Oracle Friends for their support. Firetree Chocolate is bean-to-bar dark chocolate crafted using rare cocoa beans from remote volcanic island single estates. Discover their award-winning range by visiting their website.
