LABC Fundraising Year Raises over £62,000 for Oracle
The climax of LABC's Charity of the Year fundraising was at the glittering Grand Finals held in London recently. Over 800 guests attended the evening event and ex-patient Shahid Allibhai represented Oracle sharing his personal story of battling head and neck cancer not once, but twice. LABC's President Chris Griffith-Jones chose Oracle as his charity of the year for reasons very close to his heart; Chris lost both his sister and father to head and neck cancer.
LABC's fundraising year included a series of regional awards events, skydives, even a head shave and at the Grand Final night were delighted that the total raised over the year exceeded £62,000. This is the largest sum ever raised by LABC for a charity of the year the whole team at Oracle are delighted that this sum can fund a PhD student for two years to investigate newer and kinder treatments for head and neck cancer.
